THE FUTURE IS FLEX BATTERIES.

POWER UPGRADES

WE SPECIALIZE IN WAYS TO MAKE YOUR HOME MORE RESILIENT THAN THE GRID.

Residential flex batteries for backup power offer a promising solution for homeowners seeking reliable, space-efficient energy storage. These batteries can be integrated into a variety of home energy systems, providing backup power during outages or supporting off-grid living. Their lightweight and adaptable design allow for easier installation in tight or unconventional spaces, such as underfloor areas or within walls, where traditional rigid batteries might not fit. As the demand for sustainable energy solutions grows, these flexible batteries offer a practical, versatile, and efficient option for maintaining home energy resilience.

WHAT THEY DO & HOW THEY WORK

A home battery stores energy either from your solar panels during the day or from the grid overnight. With the power stored your batteries discharges it when you need it, whether that's during a power outage or just to offset peak utility rates. An inverter built into the system converts that stored energy into the AC power your home actually runs on, and it switches over automatically, so there's no manual work involved when the power goes out.

Both systems can be sized to cover just your essential circuits (fridge, lighting, Wi-Fi, medical equipment) or your entire home, depending on your budget and priorities.

Systems can be expanded with up to 15 units linked together for a whole-home backup on larger properties.

HOW LONG THEY LAST WHEN PUT TO THE TEST.

A single Powerwall 3 runs a typical home for roughly 11–12 hours on essential plus normal use, or over 2 days if scaled back to just the essentials. The aPower 2, with its slightly larger 15 kWh capacity, lands in a similar range. Either system's runtime extends significantly by adding a second unit, which is common for homes wanting to ride out multi-day outages.

ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES WITH PSE

Both Tesla and FranklinWH batteries qualify for Puget Sound Energy's Flex Batteries program, which pays you for installing a battery and for the energy it contributes back to the grid during high-demand periods — up to $1,000 upfront and roughly $500 a year, stackable with the 30% federal tax credit.
