why we ask for it

Every home uses power differently. Your hourly data shows your evening and winter peaks, and those peaks decide how long a battery lasts in an outage. We’ve saved PSE’s public outage map every 20 minutes since 2021, so we can see how often your address loses power and for how long. Put the two together and we can size a battery for the outages your home actually gets.
