I cannot say enough good things about Swiftwater Solar and the team here in Friday Harbor. Will was incredible start to finish and kept me updated about everything at each step of the process. The initial assessment and design was quick and easy, I was able to get on a call and go over all the possible placements for panels to maximize my solar collection. I asked so many questions and Will was very patient with me. There was never any pressure to go with a specific setup, just information provided so I could make the best choice. The application process was smooth, Swiftwater handled everything with OPALCO so I didn't have to pay anything up front, and I was able to Docusign everything. The week of my installation two team members were out of commission and I was told it may take them an extra week with a skeleton crew but instead they completed all their work in just three days. During my installation the crew noticed that my electrical panel was due for an upgrade and took over an hour to walk me through all my options for possible upgrades. Then they set up their solar connection so that it would work well with BOTH my current setup and the upgrade that we discussed. They truly over delivered at every step. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.
Swiftwater Solar's a new entity in our area but their main electrician/installer, Will, used to work for the other solar co. in the county and knows what he's doing. I'd gotten a quote from the other co. but their waitlist was > 1 year long and they wanted 50% down to be on the list! For me, that meant getting a solar loan and paying an extra year of interest for no reason. After doing a lot of research on what panels I wanted and asking a ton of questions, I decided to go with Swiftwater. They didn't have a shiny quote & pitch document like the other company did. A.J. was the company contact sending me things and I hadn't received some items. But I asked for panels matching the wattage used by the other co., and Swiftwater found some AND got their employees certified to install those panels + extended my labor warranty to match the equipment warranty. Additionally, I wanted a backup power supply. Battery banks were very expensive, so I opted for a gas generator and asked Swiftwater and the other co. both if they'd be willing to wire a gen plug to my breaker panel. Swiftwater said "absolutely" and threw in the receptacle for free. The other company never got back to me with a cost to do that. Will was on point the whole way: he noticed a couple microinverters that failed not long after install; them. We had a mix-up about the gen plug receptacle that was installed, but he helped find a cord that he could custom-wire the right end onto & make it work with my setup to get everything going. I was contacted by A.J. about writing a review for the company when my promised rebate for providing referrals hadn't been received, despite me contacting him a couple times and getting no reply. At that point I said he didnt WANT my review unless that rebate check showed up pronto! It did, so everything is fine. Overall I'm very happy AND I have solar a year earlier than I would have!
My experience with Swiftwater Solar was professional and expeditious from the initial contact through the final inspection. This is a friendly and responsive team and they were a joy to work with. They included me in the design phase and coordination with the power company as well as taking the lead with the county for permitting and inspection. My monitoring system was set up and it's exciting to see how my total energy is accumulating and the reduction of my CO2 output. Swiftwater Solar is local for me and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
We just finished building a house ourselves. Will and the Troy were some of the best contractors we worked with. A referral from a friend who was very pleased with their work started the process. Every step was handled promptly in an extremely professionalmanner. We are excited about our new system!
